Founded in 1975 by Colonel James L. Fowler to promote goodwill between the military and the post-Vietnam community, and to raise money for the Injured Marine Semper Fi Fund. The Marine Corps Marathon takes place in and around Washington DC. In 2023 it will celebrate its 48th edition. Along the course, you will  take in many of Washington's major sights and monuments.
