    About this event

Join the Smithsonian's Anacostia Community Museum on Saturday April 20th as we Honor and Celebrate our Earth! Meet community partners, enjoy family friendly maker activities, and learn more about plant care.

    • National Park Service: National Capital Parks- East will be leading historical based walking tours of Fort Stanton (directly across from the museum!)
    • FreshFarm Markets who will be bringing back the youth cooking and tasting activity, as well as featuring a composting demonstration and helping you plant your own seedling to take home*
    • Casey Trees where you can learn more about the importance of D.C.'s tree canopy
    • Chalk Riot will be returning with a new Earth Day chalk mural for the perfect photo op, plus they will be creating a coloring book walk-way, which will need your help coming to life!
    • Grounded Plant Shop will be onsite to teach about plant care and will be giving away house plants for visitors to take home.*
    • Bloom will be joining us again this year to give away their soil amendment to help you get your garden going for this planting season.
    • Slow Food DC where you can learn more about celebrating local, seasonal, sustainable food sources.
