Rooted in African American music traditions, Julian Reca began his career spinning rare 45s in Barcelona’s soul and R&B scene. His musical journey has evolved into a sophisticated fusion of Balearic house, Italo disco, and avant-garde electronics.

Since 2016, he has co-run Reel to Reel, a London-born, Barcelona-based dance club focused on soulful, forward-thinking music—from high-octane disco and boogie funk to synth-laced house.

He is a key figure in Barcelona’s underground scene, a member of the B.U.M.P. collective (Barcelona Underground Music Phreaks), and a resident at Retro Future, the city’s newest disco-oriented club.

He is constantly expanding his international presence, performing 2024 at ADE Amsterdam and in London. He also performed at iconic venues such as Pikes Ibiza, Spiritland London, Netil Radio, and Soho Radio.
